Reports To: Lead Creative Strategist

Job Description:

You will work closely with the Lead Creative Strategist to craft concise creative briefs for brand campaigns, pitches and proactive work. Compiling these briefs will include utilising insights supplied by our digital strategist, doing competitor research and highlighting and analysing notable findings and conceptualising a creative direction with executional thought starters.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Unpack and understand the client’s objectives/priorities to determine the type of solutions required.
  • Employ a ‘data-driven’ approach, making strategic decisions based on research, data analysis and interpretation.
  • Form and clearly articulate a strategic opinion on client problems and opportunity spaces.
  • Define and understand the core target market, i.e., demographic, psychographic, behavioural, and attitudinal analysis.
  • Provide clear, compelling creative direction, through creative brief writing and developing of messaging hierarchy.
  • Stay current and connected to popular culture, highlighting key trends, insight, and foresight.
  • Be available as a strategic sounding board in working end-to-end across disciplines, e.g., creative, strategic, digital, media, and retail.
  • Comfortable creating and presenting campaign decks to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to critically evaluate and review creative work to ensure it meets all objectives.

Requirements:

  • Research ability – understands how to apply qualitative and quantitative learning (ability to conduct both primary and secondary research, and adjust approach depending on resources)
  • Experience in through-the-line with emphasis on ability to connect campaigns through a digital-first approach
  • A trendsetter who understands how to tap into popular culture
  • Critical thinking skills – analytical, creative, and lateral
  • The ability to uncover human-centred insights from different data sources and articulate actionable direction for brands and campaigns
  • Strategic provocateur, always curious, and questioning
  • Strong presentation and writing skills
  • Digitally savvy and ability to leverage the power of all forms of digital and social media platforms
  • Awareness of new age technology and the use of it in understanding consumer behaviour
  • Own your area of strategy expertise and become the go-to person in the agency for that work
  • A strategic marketing certification or degree is essential.
